Its December. Time to make those lists and check them twice. This is a busy
time of year for everyone with so many things to do, places to be, people to visit,
and on and on it goes. Its only the first of the month and I have already
found myself feeling overwhelmed as the calendar fills up and the lists just get
longer. But as you are looking at those lists and thinking of all that lies
ahead, think back also. Think back to the holidays that you remember best. What
makes them memorable? Why are they special to you? Was it one special event one
particular year or was it a tradition? For me, its a tradition. While
portions of my familys holiday routine changed from time to time, one thing
always remained constant. Christmas morning Mom would be up before everyone working
in the kitchen and soon we would be lured from our slumber with the aroma
of baking cinnamon rolls. As the rolls
came out of the oven, Dad, my brothers and I were sent out to deliver pans of
hot, gooey rolls to all of our neighbors (and friends within a reasonable driving
distance). It was a production that we really developed into a science, down to
the finest detail (i.e. someone always had to go with Dad to make sure he didnt
spend too much time visiting). And it made Christmas last a little longer. There
were years that we didnt get around to typical Christmas morning activities
until it was no longer morning. Regardless of the holiday you celebrate,
be sure to include the things that make it special to you, whether it be one time
or every year. And most importantly, be sure to share the story. With or without
photos; it doesnt matter. The most important thing is to tell the story.
Everything we create at Lettering
Delights we create to help you tell a story. The story of an event, of a season
or of a person. Make the most of your holiday season and make it a story to remember!

| Around
the world, December is a time for celebration. These celebrations vary tremendously
according to religion and culture. One December event does bring together all
people, cultures and religions - the Winter Solstice (or Summer Solstice for those
living in the Southern Hemisphere). Ancient cultures observed this seasonal milestone
and celebrated the lengthening of the days and over time, elements of these celebrations
have been woven into the celebrations we now enjoy at this time of year. Now for
our trivia question... What is the exact date and time of the Winter Solstice
this year? Send your answer to fontrivia@LetteringDelights.com
with grin & win on the subject line. Please include your mailing
address and your choice from the following products: Scrapbook Snips, Borders
& Backgrounds or Typing Delights CDs. All correct answers will be entered
into a random drawing. | Congratulations
to Carla Ammeter (Hiawatha, IA), Chris A. Dorries (Breese, IL) and Julie Meserve,
(Citrus Heights, CA) the winners of the November trivia contest. The answer? According
to the National Turkey Federation, 97% of Americans eat turkey at Thanksgiving.
