To get started, open your browser and go to Alphabets. Select
an alphabet that best fits your holiday décor. Type
the name and add it to the clipboard. Move to
the Layout page and place the name on the page. Size
the image appropriately; I chose about 1 ½” for the height of my place
card names. Move the image around on the page
to best use the space, but also being sure to leave plenty of room for trimming. Go
back to the Alphabets page and repeat steps 3 through 6 for each name. If you
are having a large number of guests you may need to fill a page, print it out,
and then repeat the process on a new layout page until all of your guest’s
names are printed. Trim each name leaving a small
border. I like to make sure the place cards are all the same height but vary the
length based on the length of each name. Mount
each name on a matching piece of cardstock leaving about ¼ - ½”
border on the bottom and side. Remember to double the height of the cardstock
(taking into consideration the top border) so it can be folded over and easily
stand at each place setting at your table.
Using just alphabets is the
easiest and simplest way to make place cards. But if you have more time, use Journaling
Delights images as your background and type the names with festive fonts. Or use
a combination of alphabets and fonts for another fun look.
