Welcome: Warm Holiday Greetings
The clock is ticking! Only a few days remain for holiday shopping. Congrats
to anyone who has everything wrapped and is sitting back enjoying a glass of
eggnog. (Will you please share your insights with the rest of us?)
While my shopping is done, holiday baking has now overtaken my kitchen,
and I’m finishing up a few handmade gifts. You’ll see some
of my treats in “Creative Corner” below and learn how I used
Lettering Delights products to spruce up the packaging.
Another easy way to spruce up your holiday gifts is with LD
Gift Tag Snippits. Choose from six holiday designs, including Christmas and Hanukkah.
Buy any LD
Gift Tag Snippit (only $1 each),
and with a simple click you can download the electronic pdf file
that just
needs to be printed and trimmed. They couldn’t be easier to use! |

Creative Corner: How to Create Quick Gift Tags
from Journaling Delights
Journaling Delights are images with many fun uses.
As their name implies, they make great decorative boxes for journaling;
use the Lettering
Delights browser to type on and resize them. In
addition, they can be used as gift tags and accents for cards, scrapbook
pages, tags, gift wrap and more. Most Journaling Delights sets have
coordinating alphabets for even more fun options.
In the projects shown here, I used several different Journaling
Delights and attached them to holiday treats. |
These gingerbread cookies are all wrapped up and ready
to be taken home by holiday visitors. Using the tag images from JJD
Cookie Man and
JD
Holly Berry (with
a “Happy Holidays” greeting
in KF
Twirl), I made simple tags to dress up the packaging.

Creating tags for holiday treats using Journaling Delights
is simple.
- Open the Lettering
Delights browser and click the Journaling
Delights tab on the left. From the Category drop-down box in the
upper right corner, select either Journaling Delights or Jillustration.
Browse the Sub Categories to find a JD Image Set that best fits
the theme you are looking for.
- Select the image you want to use, and click Add to place the
image on the clipboard.
- Move to the layout page and click the image in the Image box
to place it on the page. Select the image and then Size Image.
Enter the dimensions you want for your image; check the “Constrained” box
for the width or height to be sure that the image sizes proportionally.
- Repeat steps 1-3 until you have all the tags you want.
- Print the images on cardstock, and trim as needed.
Tie or adhere the tags to your holiday gifts, and give with love!
