| | Here
comes the bride, All dressed in white..... while that may be the prelude to the
wedding itself, dont forget that often the wedding activities begin with
the showers. The most recent shower I attended was a recipe-themed shower. But
there are bridal showers of all kinds; time of day showers, holiday showers, couples
showers, etc. In this months creative corner, I made a super simple invitation
that could be used for showers, or any other kind of event. As the winner
of our wedding contest, Glenda Schober received some extra special creative help
from LetteringDelights.com.
Glenda, who entered the contest on her daughter Lisa Fierros behalf, was
selected in our drawing and weve designed a special alphabet, Lisas
Wedding, to match her wedding colors turquoise and white. Lisa was
married on May 8 and also receives a custom font, LD
Fierro. Check out Whats New to see the new designs. | | There

I
just love the photo corners that are part of many of the Jillustration
Journaling Delights, so thought it would be fun to make something using just
the corners. For a recipe shower, I found perfect photo corners in the Harvest
Pies Jillustration Journaling Delight set, but there are lots of different
designs available. And remember, that many times, the photo corners are created
just to match the colors of a theme, but may not include actual images reflecting
the theme, so they are very versatile.
To print the photo corners, open your browser and go to Journaling Delights. From
the Category drop-down box in the upper right corner, select Jillustration. Browse
the Sub Categories to find the Journaling Delights set that best fits the theme
you are looking for. Select the image you want
to use and Click the Add to place the image on the clipboard. Move
to the layout page and click the image in the Image box to place it
on the page. Select the image and then click Size Image. Choose the
dimensions of your corner and enter them in the appropriate boxes. (Remember to
check the Constrained box for the width or height, to be sure that
the image sizes proportionally.) Repeat steps
2 and 3 until you have all of the images you need on the layout page. - Remember
that you can copy and paste to create multiples of the same image on your layout
page.
- Print your layout page, trim the corners or other embellishments
you will be using and adhere them to the invitation. I printed the text on white
cardstock (using LDJ
Shortbread Hand), mounted it on red, and then just added the Journaling Delights
corners for an easy finishing touch.
