Last month was quite possibly my best scrapbooking month ever! I was able to get
away for an entire weekend (Friday - Sunday) with seven friends, and do nothing
but scrapbook. We all packed up our supplies, brought along a laptop and printer,
and set up shop in a cabin in the mountains. No kids, no distractions, just plenty
of scrapping and fun. I think we stayed up until three am both nights! The best
part was what we all managed to accomplish. Each of us came away with lots to
show for our time, and it was a great escape to laugh and just enjoy one another
and our friendships. Now, before I go on tell more about this weekend and
what I accomplished, I need to interject a message to my mom - Just in case you
forgot our agreement, please, please stop reading; you can come back to this after
Mothers Day. And, to moms friends who are reading, please be excited
but keep this surprise under wraps. | |
OK, back to the story at hand. Some time ago, my grandmother was cleaning
out and distributing old photos to members of the family and I received some pictures
from my parents wedding. They have been sitting in my closet until just
recently, when I decided to put them together in a small album. With Mothers
Day approaching, I had the perfect goal. I set out on our scrapbooking weekend,
determined to see this project through. I purchased all of the supplies I thought
I would need, including plenty of matching papers and a wide variety of embellishments,
and packed it up for the cabin weekend. Having access to the computer made the
journaling easy (although there were a couple of phone calls required to get all
of the names correct). And by the end of the weekend I had accomplished my goal
and completed, from start to finish, a 20-page wedding album. Now, needless to
say, Im a little excited for Mothers Day and only regret that I wont
be there in person to present this gift. Scrapbooking has always been a
creative outlet for me, and an enjoyable way to spend my time, but this project
reminded me how much scrapbooking is for others, as much as it is for myself.
I hope you can all find something to work on in the coming months that means as
much to you as this project meant to me. And Happy Mothers Day! P.S. I figured that will all this talk about my project,
it would only be fair to include a few sample pages. Each page uses the same colors
and patterned papers, but each page is also unique in its design. All of the journaling
is done with Scrap Cursive (except stamps were used on the word Friendship)

In a perfect world everything
would always work as designed. However, there are many different circumstances
and and actions that arise and throw the proverbial "wrench" in the
works! However, with patience these "wrenches" can be removed and the
desired result reached. One of the "wrenches" we
have found affecting a small amount of our LetteringDelights.com customers is
an installation error caused by a download problem. Go to http://www.letteringdelights.com/download_error.lasso
for help with this problem. |
