Welcome:
Is your holiday “to do” list growing?
With
the holidays coming up quickly, is your “to do” list growing?
I know mine is, and it’s a little overwhelming. We at Lettering
Delights want to make things easier for you with great gift ideas.
- For starters, we’re offering you a free copy
of Creating
Keepsakes’ “Creative Clips and Fonts for Winter Memories” CD with
your order of $25 or more.
This CD has 20 CK fonts, more than 1,000 creative clips and dozens of sample
scrapbook layouts.
(Shipping is free within the U.S., $6 for international shipping.)
So go ahead, order the bundles, fonts and alphabets that
you need for gifts, holiday projects and scrapbook layouts, and
get a useful gift for yourself (or one of the scrapbookers on your
list).

- For the other Lettering
Delights fans on your list, how about ordering for them a bundle (or
make your own selection of alphabets and fonts) that tells them how youfeel
about them as a friend? This month’s
new Angelic
Bundle is the perfect gift for the friend who truly is
an angel in your life. Best of all, the new designs can be used all year
long.
- And in this month’s Creative
Corner, I’ve put together a really simple but fun holiday card
design that is easy to assemble and has a lot of flexibility. We don’t
all have time to spend hours making elaborate holiday cards, but
we still want to send a holiday wish that is our very own, and
this design is a great option.
I hope that your holiday preparations go smoothly—and remember,
you can always find something fun to create with help from Lettering
Delights!

Creative Corner: Try this simple, flexible holiday card design
The cards below are all based on the same simple design,
yet by using different papers and colors, they each have a unique look.
Each card uses a simple typed greeting, a Journaling Delight embellishment
and a few pieces of paper. Use this design and add your creativity to
make a card that is your own.
- I used 8 ½ x 11 paper
to make two 4 ¼ x 5 ½ cards because it’s the
simplest format to print and get the most from your paper. To print
the greeting on the bottom edge of the card front, use your favorite
word processing program and set up for paper with 2 equally spaced
columns. Select your font and type the greeting, aligning it with
the bottom margin.
- Print on 8½ x 11 cardstock, cut paper in half and fold with
the greeting on the outside. That’s it! Now you are ready to embellish.
- Open your LD image browser and go to Journaling Delights. From the
Category drop-down box in the upper right corner, select either Journaling
Delights or Jillustration. Browse the subcategories to find a JD Image
Set that best fits the theme you are looking for.
- Select an image and click “Add” to place the image on
the clipboard.
- Move to the layout page and click the image in the “Image” box
to place it on the page. Select the image and then “Size Image.” Enter
the dimensions you want for your image, remembering to check the “Constrained” box
for the width or height to be sure that the image sizes proportionally.
- To
make multiple cards that are the same, select the image and copy and
paste until you fill the sheet. (Remember to leave enough space between
images for trimming.)
- Print the images onto cardstock, and trim to
the appropriate size.
- The rest is up to you: choosing complimentary
papers, mounting the images on another color if you want, and securing
everything with adhesive.
- This final step is the most important—show
us how you made this card your own by submitting it to the Inspiration
Station contest!
