Welcome to a New Year
Happy New Year! 2006 has arrived, with twelve brand new months of possibilities-and
the annual opportunity to make resolutions. However, if you are like me (and
two-thirds of the American people), your New Year’s resolutions won’t
survive past Valentine’s Day.
This year I’m taking a different approach by making a list of the
things I’d like to do and see this year. Some of
these things are goals to achieve, a few are habits to develop and others
are as simple as trying a new activity or visiting a new city.
This list is going on my calendar, and every month when the calendar
page turns, the list will move. Each month I’ll pick a few things
from the list and work on them. At the end of every month I hope to cross
three things off the list.
| |
One of the things I’ll work on first is organizing my office/computer/scrapbook
room. It took quite a beating over the holidays. My plan is to really make
it my creative space, not just a room with a work table, shelves and supplies.
In the new year I hope you are able to find a way that will work for you to
accomplish the goals you desire. We are looking forward to a great
year at Lettering Delights-and to you being a part of it!
All the best to you and your loved ones in 2006!

Personal
Trainer: Alphabets 101
For those new to our newsletter, we
warmly welcome you. As you're getting familiar with the wide variety
of downloadable art and fonts at LetteringDelights.com, you may
have wondered, what's an alphabet?
An alphabet is like a font, but the letters are images rather
than a TrueType font file. Our fonts will install into the font
list of programs such as Word, WordPerfect, Excel and Photoshop.
Alphabets, however, are a unique creation of Lettering
Delights.
We offer a free software download, the Lettering Delights Supreme
image browser, that allows you to type words and phrases, resize,
and manipulate alphabets. You can download it at http://www.letteringdelights.com/free_browser.lasso. |
 |
In addition to having
fun with alphabets, you can use the Lettering Delights Supreme
image browser to go to town with Journaling Delights, which are
images perfect for journaling boxes, tags, cards, page accents,
as well as creative uses such as recipe cards, signs, newsletters
and much more. In the browser you can type directly on Journaling
Delights using alphabets, which is why we often release matching
Journaling Delights and alphabets--we coordinate them for you.
If you haven't used the image browser before, give it a try! It'll
open up a world of creative possibilities for you. If you have
questions on the image browser, see our FAQ (http://www.letteringdelights.com/faq.lasso)
or contact
us (http://www.letteringdelights.com/contact.lasso) . And be
sure to tell your creative friends about LetteringDelights.com. |
