There
is nothing quite like the sinking feeling when you realize
an important date has been forgotten – a dear friend's
birthday, an anniversary or other special occasion. I have
my pocket sized calendar that goes with my everywhere for
scheduling, meetings, appointments, etc. but I like to
have something hanging on the wall too. And the wall calendar,
for me, is a perfect place to remember all of those special
days.
Personalized calendars with photos and have been around
for years and everyone has their own unique take on them.
They can be as easy or simple to create as you make them,
and around the holidays, it seems like there is always
a mad dash to get them completed to give as gifts to start
the new year. But who says a calendar has to start in January?
If you are making the calendar it can begin with any month
you choose, which opens up a whole world of possibilities.
Give grandparents a photo calendar of their posterity
on their anniversary or give a friend a calendar full of
memories of your friendship on her birthday. Create a calendar
for any occasion for anyone who is special to you. Check

Using the Creative
Delights Companion you can print all of the pieces needed to create a fun
scrapbook layout, or in this case, calendar. This March
calendar features the alphabet and Journaling Delight Seasonal – Spring from the new Seasonal
Bundle.
|
- Open the Creative Delights Companion and select an alphabet
design. Type the month and place it on the Layout page.
Many Lettering
Delights alphabets include embellished upper-case
letters and more simply designed lower-case letters. I
mixed and matched for variety and also, since I know I
would be cutting out each letter individually, placed a
space between the letters to create some extra cutting
room.
- Select the matching Journaling
Delight, select an image
you plan to include on the calendar, place it on the layout
page and adjust the size according to your layout space.
Repeat this process until you have all of the photo boxes,
clip art images and borders you will need. If you fill
up your layout page before you have everything you need,
simply print the page and then start fresh with a new layout
page. Be sure to leave yourself enough room between images
for trimming.
- Don't forget about Paper
Packs and Tags. Including these
in your layout add more layers of creativity. Tag sheets
are easy to use downloadable .pdf files and print easily,
giving you many sizes and shapes of tags. Paper Packs are
perfect for digital scrapbooking but can be printed in
small sizes and used as accents for paper layouts. Open
the file for the paper design(s) you want, click print
and follow the step by step instructions, printing the
'paper' in largest size available.
- Once you have all the pieces,
the rest is up to you. Create a layout that will fit your
finished size requirements and include all of the important
information you need to remember. The calendar template
I used is available free online at http://www.freecraftunlimited.com/templates/calendar_blank.html and
several styles are available.
