Creating
home decor with your scrapbook supplies has become more

this technique is out of your reach.
My scrapbook room decor is red, white and blue with a
combination of Americana accessories and baseball memorabilia.
While attending a baseball game earlier this season, I
took a 'self-portrait' of my brother and I (taken by holding
the camera out in front of us) and it turned out pretty
well so I thought it would be fun to display it in a frame
to match my room. In no time at all I found a Lettering
Delights Paper Pack (Spirit

to my décor. A quick trip to the local craft store
to pick up an unfinished wood frame and I was on my way.

These simple
steps will give you the basics needed to make a custom picture
frame. Create one for your self or as a gift to share a special
memory with a special someone. Be creative and use your imagination
to create your own one-of-a-kind frame!
- Select and download a Paper
Pack of your choosing.
Select the sheet(s) you will need and print them as
full sheets on 8 ½ x 11 white cardstock. Be sure
to either choose an unfinished wood frame that is small
enough to fit on your printed paper, or piece different
patterns together for a fun collage look.
- Remove the
frame backing and glass. For a more finished look,
paint the outside and inside edges of the unfinished
wood frame with matching acrylic paint. (I used white
paint for this frame.)
- Trim one sheet of paper to fit
the dimensions of the front of the frame and adhere
with a thin layer of Modge Podge or white craft glue.
Once dry, turn the frame over and using and xacto or
other sharp knife, carefully cut out the paper covering
the photo opening. You can sand the edges of the frame
to remove and excess paper edges.
- Trim and adhere other
matching paper pieces to accent your frame. I used
a simple stripe of contrasting paper on the bottom portion
of the frame. Add other embellishments such as ribbon,
charms and tags to personalize your custom frame. I
tied a simple white grosgrain ribbon over the contrasting
paper strip.
