Last
night I watched as 30 teenagers had a complete blast playing
water balloon volleyball, water-themed relay races, and
a game of waffle ball topped off with cold, sweet snow
cone treats. Believe me, I didn’t escape the evening
without getting wet myself – the splash from those
water balloons was enormous! It was a great evening of
simple, homemade, summer
fun in the sun.
I’m fortunate to live near the ocean and there’s
nothing like a summer day at the beach with sand and surf.
Throw down the towels and hit the water for fun all day
long…but don’t forget the sunscreen! Frisbee
and sand castles during the day, bon fires and s’mores
at night (even with a little sand they’re still tasty).
Summer fun just can’t be beat!
Camping is another great source of summer fun. If you
are high in the mountains or close to the shore, it’s
a great way to kick back and relax. My favorite part? Cooking
over a campfire. Camp food is the best – foil dinners,
dutch oven desserts, biscuits on sticks filled with butter
and honey, and popping corn over the fire. Mmmm. It’s
all so delicious!
Whether you take to the beach, the mountains, or just
enjoy your own backyard, have fun in the sun this summer!
