Using Layered Fonts

A layered font is simple a font that is meant to be layered. The upper and lower cases work together so you can have two colors in one font. These fonts work great for cutting machines and our layered fonts are made with care so that they are especially clean for great cutting. When possible we try to stencil items to help make easier cutting as well.

We recommend using layered fonts in programs that allow you move your "words" around.  Adobe programs, the programs that come with cutting machines and graphic programs all work great.  If you are trying to use a layered font in a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, you will need to make the words into "Word Art".

To use a layered font follow the following directions:

using layered fonts

1.  Type the word or words you want in the first layer.  Usually that is lowercase.

2.  Copy your word or phrase and change it to uppercase.

3.  Paste the uppercase either behind or on top of the first word, depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Shop for layered fonts.
